Julissa Contreras' Vámonos opens its world premiere May 1 as a Main Stage production presented by INTAR Theater and Radio Drama Network. Previews began April 22, with the Off-Broadway run set to continue through May 21.

Vámonos tells the story of the Torres family, a Dominican family from the Bronx who gather to celebrate the christening of Juana's grandson, Christopher. It’s just a year after 9/11, and this bilingual play explores how the family navigates a new reality that challenges their sense of security.

The cast stars Cindy Peralta, Yohanna Florentino, Angela Reynoso, Kiara Lauren, Cesar J. Rosado, Denzel Rodriguez, and Ansi Rodriguez.

Director Tatyana-Marie Carlo helms the creative team including scenic designer Rodrigo Escalante, costume designer Jennifer Colón, lighting designer Alberto Ruiz, sound designer Germán Martinez. The production also features video and projections by Stefania Bulbarella.

INTAR is one of the longest-running Latiné theatres producing in English in the United States and is dedicated to developing theatre arts without borders and Latiné theatre artists.
