Irish Repertory Theatre's holiday classic A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas returned in style this season, and Playbill has pictures to prove it!
Adapted and directed by Charlotte Moore (Aristocrats), with music direction by David Hancock Turner (The Butcher Boy), A Child’s Christmas in Wales began previews December 4, with opening night on December 8. The limited run will continue through December 29.
The 2024 cast of A Child’s Christmas in Wales includes Ali Ewoldt (The Phantom of the Opera), Reed Lancaster (Translations), Ashley Robinson (Meet Me in St. Louis), Howard McGillin (The Phantom of the Opera), Kimberly Doreen Burns (Finian’s Rainbow), and Polly McKie (The Butcher Boy).
The production features costume design by David Toser (The O’Casey Cycle) and lighting design by Michael Gottlieb (On Beckett). April Ann Kline (The Devil’s Disciple) is the production stage manager, and Hope Michelson (Days of Wine and Roses) is the assistant stage manager.
Thomas’ story of a snowy Christmas Day in Wales is enhanced with both classic and contemporary Christmas music woven into the show. A Child’s Christmas in Wales was first seen at the Off-Broadway theatre in 2002, and was revived by popular demand in 2010, 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2022.
