92nd Street Y's School of Music will offer several courses for those interested in cabaret or concert performances in 2025.
The next professional performance workshop will be held February 21-22, 2025, led by Tony-nominated composer Joe Iconis (Be More Chill), performer-instructor Michael Kirk Lane, and musical director Yasuhiko (Yaz) Fukuoka. The trio will provide insights to participants who will work on a piece of music by Iconis. Applications are now being accepted through February 10 for 12 participants, but those wishing to audit the class can sign up anytime. Register here.
Tony winner Faith Prince, who will return to Broadway this spring in BOOP! The Musical, will lead a week-long Summer Cabaret Conference July 14–18 with Lane. This second annual conference will accept 12 singers to work alongside the artists. Interested performers must complete a short pre-screening form by June 2. The Manhattan venue will also offer Cabaret Performance: Connecting to Your Lyric workshops Saturdays, January 25–March 15 from 2 PM–4 PM with Lane and Bronston; Tuesdays, January 28-March 18 from 2 PM–4 PM with Lane and Fukuoka; and Tuesdays, January 28–March 18 from 7 PM–9 PM with Lane and Fukuoka.
