JC Lee's new play To My Girls officially opens Off-Broadway at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater April 12, after beginning previews March 15. The production is scheduled to continue through April 24.

Bryan Batt (Mad Men, Jeffrey), Jay Armstrong Johnson (On the Town, The Phantom of the Opera), Carman Lacivita (Marvin's Room, Cyrano de Bergerac), Maulik Pancholy (30 RockIt's Only a Play), Noah J. Ricketts (Frozen, Beautiful), and Britton Smith (Be More Chill, Shuffle Along) star in the work about a group of gay men enjoying a post-pandemic vacation in sunny Palm Springs who, after the drinks start pouring, discover some hard truths about a changed world.

A Strange Loop and Be More Chill director Stephen Brackett helms the production, leading a creative team that includes scenic designer Arnulfo Maldonado, costume designer Sarafina Bush, lighting designer Jen Schriever, and sound designer Sinan Refik Zafar. Movement is by Patrick McCollum, and casting is by The Telsey Office. Brian Bogin serves as production stage manager, with Kalen Sierra Hughes as stage manager.

Rounding out the company are understudies Hunter Bryant, Vin Knight, Carol Mazhuvancheril, and Benjamin Pelteson.

To My Girls is a Donna and Ben M. Rosen commission, and the production is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

"Producing new American plays and supporting American playwrights is the foundation of Second Stage Theater, and commissions help support these artists as they create new works for the stage," said Second Stage President and Artistic Director Carole Rothman in an earlier statement. "We’re very much looking forward to our audiences discovering this funny and timely new play."

Second Stage's 2021-2022 season kicked off last year with Rajiv Joseph's Letters of Suresh Off-Broadway and Lynn Nottage's Clyde's on Broadway. Their revival of Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out, the first Broadway return for the 2003 Tony winner, opened April 4 at the Hayes with a cast led by Patrick J. Adams, Jesse Williams, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. A Broadway transfer of Stephen Adly Guirgis' Between Riverside and Crazy will begin at the Hayes in the fall.
