The U.S. premiere from The Lehman Trilogy playwright features a cast of female and gender non-conforming BIPOC+ actors.

The U.S. premiere of Stefano Massini's 7 Minutes began performances March 17 at HERE Off-Broadway, with the run set to continue through April 10. Mei Ann Teo directs the work, with a translation by Francesca Spedalieri commissioned by producing theatre Waterwell.
Based on actual events, the play takes place at a heated union council meeting of a rural Connecticut textile factory, recently under new ownership.
The ensemble cast, consisting entirely of women and gender non-conforming BIPOC+ actors, includes Nicole Ansari (Rock 'n' Roll), Jojo Brown, Danielle Davenport (An Octoroon), Julia Gu, Simone Immanuel, Mahira Kakkar (Monsoon Wedding), Layla Khoshnoudi (Dance Nation), Ebony Marshall-Oliver (Chicken & Biscuits), Aigner Mizzelle (Chicken & Biscuits), Sushma Saha (Interstate), and Carmen Zilles (Fefu and her Friends).

A Look at the U.S. Premiere of Stefano Massini's 7 Minutes
7 Minutes features scenic design by You-Shin Chen, costume design by Asa Benally, lighting and sound design by Hao Bai, and props design by Patricia Marjorie. Taylor Williams is the casting director, victor cervantes jr. is the line producer, and Brittany Coyne is the production manager. Genevieve Ortiz serves as the production stage manager, and AriDy Nox serves as dramaturg.
The show is produced by Waterwell in association with Working Theater as part of SubletSeries@HERE: a curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as a technical liaison.
Surrounded by period-accurate, 19th-century holiday decorations lit via candlelight, the 70-minute production is based on Dickens' own script of the classic.
The National Asian American Theatre Company production will give a world premiere to a new modern verse translation of the Shakespeare play from Andrea Thome.

The 2021 concert preceded the acclaimed Off-Broadway staging of Creel's musical inspired by his time wandering the collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Original Hairspray cast members Laura Bell Bundy, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Kerry Butler star in an evening of songs and anecdotes from their careers.
The London production is part of Brooklyn Academy of Music's winter and spring 2025 season, which also includes Whitney White's Macbeth in Stride and more.
