Ruth Stage will present its postponed revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at The Theater at St. Clements beginning July 15. The production will officially open July 24, with performances through August 14.
Starring Sonoya Mizuno (Crazy Rich Asians) as Maggie and Matt de Rogatis (Lone Star) as Brick, the originally announced cast will all return for the production. Daytime Emmy winner Christian Jules Le Blanc (The Young and the Restless) stars as Big Daddy, Tony nominee Alison Fraser (The Secret Garden) as Big Mama, Milton Elliott (Biloxi Blues) as Rev. Tooker, Tiffan Borelli (Million Dollar Quartet) as Mae, Carly Gold (The Ferryman) as The No Neck Monsters, and Spencer Scott (The Glass Menagerie) as Gooper. Jim Kempner (Red) joins the cast as Doc Baugh, with originally announced Austin Pendleton taking on the role beginning July 25.
Joe Rosario (Flowers for Algernon) directs. Williams' play is set on the Mississippi estate of cotton tycoon Big Daddy Pollit, and explores the difficult relationships between his troubled son Brick, and Brick’s outspoken wife Maggie, his ambitious elder son Gooper and daughter-in-law Mae.

"Our goal in presenting Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is to illustrate this authentic American dynasty from a modern perspective, while showing the timelessness of a dysfunctional family,” said Rosario in a statement. “To be the first group to ever perform this show Off- Broadway, in the House that Tennessee Williams built no less, is a special privilege."
The creative team includes scenic design by Matt Imhoff (Disney’s High School Musical), lighting design by Steve Wolf (The Glass Menagerie), sound design by Ben Levine (All Is Calm), and Jesse Meckl serving as stage manager (Wars of the Roses).
The production was originally scheduled to play January 14-February 13, but was postponed due to the pandemic. The upcoming staging will be the first Off-Broadway production of the play allowed by Williams' estate. On Broadway, the 1955 Pulitzer-winning drama has been revived five times, most recently starring Scarlett Johansson and Benjamin Walker in 2013. Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman star in the 1958 film adaptation.
