New York Theatre Barn will present a reading of Maiga Vidal’s new musical Café con Leche January 10 in Manhattan.

Directed and produced by Héctor Flores Jr., the reading will feature the talents of Linedy Genao (Bad Cinderella, Dear Evan Hansen), Reanne Acasio (Hamilton), Eliseo Román (In the Heights), and Fran Tapia (On Your Feet!) with Kennen Butler, Caleb Conaway, Tess Edwards, Amanda Gulla, Allie Lewis, Taylor Wendell Lozano, and Cassidy O’Connell.

Set in Los Angeles, Café con Leche follows Alejandra, a closeted accountant who longs to be the perfect immigrant daughter for her parents. When the bank threatens to foreclose on her parents' donut shop, she and social media manager Megan open Café con Leche to moonlight to make ends meet. As her feelings for Megan begin to grow, Alejandra questions how much she's willing to hide to keep her parents' love.

The upcoming reading will also have music direction, orchestrations, and arrangements by Felipe Segovia Sanhueza. The stage manager is Mikey Anthony Sylvester.

Last year, Theatre Barn Records released a concept EP of Café con Leche featuring Genao, Taylor Iman Jones, and more. The album is available for streaming.

New York Theatre Barn is led under the direction of Artistic Director Joe Barros and Managing Director Kate Trammell.
