Primary Stages, the resident theatre company at 59E59 Theaters, has announced two additions to their inaugural 2022 season.
On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo will be presented in association with Ted Snowdon, and directed by Zi Alikhan. The production will begin previews on July 23, opening August 11, for a limited run through September 4. The play follows two young men, one a refugee and the other the American child of immigrants, through one romantic day in Amsterdam.
peerless, by 2019/20 Tow Playwright-in-Residence Jiehae Park, and directed by Margot Bordelon, will begin previews on September 24, opening October 11, for a limited run through November 6. The comedic interpretation of Shakespeare's Macbeth follows two Asian American twins who resort to murder in order to get ahead in the cutthroat world of college admissions.
