Off-Broadway News Irish Repertory Reveals Programming for Inaugural New Works Summer Festival

The lineup of five works read over five days showcases LGBTQ+ artists.

Off-Broadway's Irish Repertory Theatre has announced it will hold its inaugural New Works Summer Festival as part of its New Play Development Program beginning June 20 in the W. Scott McLucas Theatre. The new festival will spotlight the work of LGBTQ+ artists in a series of free new play readings through June 24.

Presented at 7 PM, the programming features Karen Cogan's Drip Feed (June 20), John King's ERIS (June 21), Phillip McMahon's Once Before I Go (June 22), Ciara Elizabeth Smyth's Irishtown (June 23), and May Treuhaft-Ali's Motherland (June 23). Nicola Murphy Dubey will direct the first three with Colm Summers directing the final two.

Prior to the last reading June 24, the theatre will also host a pre-reading happy hour at 5:30 PM.

The New Play Development Program at Irish Repertory Theatre was developed to expand the Irish theatre canon by supporting Irish and Irish-American voices of all races, genders, abilities, and orientations. Along with readings, workshops, and this summer's inaugural festival, the program also includes the Transatlantic Commissions Program
