The Broadway revival is hosting the nine historically Black Greek Letter organizations for a talkback.

The nine historically Black Greek Letter organizations that comprise the National Pan-Hellenic Council, known as The Divine Nine, are attending a special performance of Suzan-Lori Parks’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play Topdog/Underdog January 10. The 20th anniversary Broadway revival is also hosting attendees from the The Divine Nine for a post-show talkback with members of the company.

Topdog/Underdog will complete its limited engagement January 15 at the Golden Theatre where it opened October 20. Read reviews here. Starring in the production are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in his Broadway debut and Tony nominee Corey Hawkins (Six Degrees of Separation, Romeo & Juliet). Tony winner Kenny Leon directs the story of sibling rivalry and brotherly love, which centers on two brothers named Lincoln and Booth by their father as a joke.

The creative team for the current Broadway run includes scenic designer Arnulfo Maldonado, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Allen Lee Hughes, and sound designer Justin Ellington. Casting is by Calleri Jensen Davis, and Kamra Jacobs is the production stage manager.

Topdog/Underdog made its world premiere Off-Broadway at The Public Theater in 2001 before transferring to Broadway the following year. The production received two 2002 Tony nominations, including Best Play. It also won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, making Parks the first Black woman to win the honor.

The production is produced by David Stone, LaChanze, Rashad V. Chambers, Marc Platt, Debra Martin Chase, and the Shubert Organization.
