Ryan McCartan will return to the role of Hans in the North American tour of Disney's Frozen July 12.
McCartan, who previously played Hans on Broadway and on tour, will succeed Austin Colby, playing his final performance July 10. Also seen on Broadway in Wicked and Off-Broadway in Heathers: The Musical, McCartan will play a limited engagement through September 4.
McCartan will join a cast that currently features Caroline Bowman as Elsa, Lauren Nicole Chapman as Anna, F. Michael Haynie as Olaf, Mason Reeves as Kristoff, Jeremy Morse as Weselton, Collin Baja as Sven at certain performances, Evan Strand as Sven at certain performances, Aria Kane as Young Anna at certain performances, Arwen Monzon-Sanders as Young Elsa at certain performances, and real-life sisters Natalie Grace Chan as Young Elsa at certain performances and Victoria Hope Chan as Young Anna at certain performances.
The company also includes Belinda Allyn, Caelan Creaser, Jeremy Davis, Kristen Smith Davis, Colby Dezelick, Michael Everett, Berklea Going, Michael Allan Haggerty, Tyler Jimenez, Hannah Jewel Kohn, Marina Kondo, Dustin Layton, Nika Lindsay, Tatyana Lubov, Adrianna Rose Lyons, Michael Milkanin, Kyle Lamar Mitchell, Tony Neidenbach, Travis Patton, Jessie Peltier, Brian Steven Shaw, Daniel Switzer, Zach Trimmer, Brit West, Natalie Wisdom, and Peli Naomi Woods.
Based on the 2013 animated Disney film, Frozen features music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and a book by Jennifer Lee. The musical opened on Broadway in March 2018, earning Tony Award nominations for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score. The Broadway production announced in May 2020 that it would not reopen post-pandemic. The London production officially opened September 8, 2021.
