National Tour News & Juliet Plans National Tour; See the Cast Perform 'Since U Been Gone'

The jukebox musical will lay its scene in a fair North American city beginning next year.

Juliet is going on a journey—and coming to cities across North America. & Juliet has announced a multi-year tour of North America that will kick off in the fall of 2024 with engagements in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, North Carolina, and San Francisco, California in its first year. Full tour details will be announced at a later date.

The cast of & Juliet also appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers April 25 to perform "Since U Been Gone" from the jukebox musical. After Meyers introduced the musical, the show's Anne Hathaway—"not the one you're thinking of"—stepped in. "As much as I love hearing a man explain the plot of my musical to me in 2023, I think I can take it from here," says Betsy Wolfe as Hathaway. She sets the scene: Romeo has surprisingly returned from the dead expecting to pick up where things left off with Juliet. But, Juliet has a different opinion on the matter. Watch the performance above.

& Juliet opened its Broadway run at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre November 17, 2022. Packed with a catalog of pop songs, Lorna Courtney stars as the titular Juliet in this rewrite of the lovestruck teenager's tragic ending in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Rather than committing suicide after Romeo dies, Juliet decides she would much rather stay alive. Starring are Tony winner Paulo Szot as Lance, Tony nominee Stark Sands as Shakespeare, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway, Justin David Sullivan as May, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo, Philippe Arroyo as Francois, and original U.K. cast member Melanie La Barrie as Nurse.

The Broadway run follows the musical's sold-out North American premiere at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre, which also featured the Broadway production's principal cast. In the lead-up to its Broadway run, & Juliet released its first single "Roar," originally recorded by Katy Perry, ahead of the original Broadway cast recording's release by Atlantic Records.

Martin also serves as producer alongside Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page, Jenny Petersson, and Martin Dodd, with Eva Price serving as executive producer.
