Streaming George Street Playhouse's Gene & Gilda Will Live Stream

The new play centers on the relationship between screen actors Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner.

Jonathan Randell Silver and Jordan Kai Burnett

New Jersey's George Street Playhouse will live stream two performances of Cary Gitter's Gene & Gilda, December 13 and 14. The announcement comes ahead of the production beginning previews December 3. Opening night is December 6, and performances will continue through December 22.

The new work tracks the relationship between film icons Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner, from their first meeting to dramatic career ups and downs, and to a tragically early farewell. Jonathan Randell Silver and Jordan Kai Burnett are reprising their performances as, respectively, Wilder and Radner from the work's world premiere at Penguin Rep Theater.

Joe Brancato is directing the production, which features scenic design by Christian Fleming, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jose Santiago, sound design by Max Silverman, wig design by Bobbie Zlotnik, and dance consulting by Ryan Kasprzak. Samantha Flint is production stage manager.

The streams are being presented in partnership with The League of Live Stream Theatre. Tickets are available at LOLST.org. In-person tickets are available at GeorgeStreetPlayhouse.org.
