The 2022-2023 season will also include Ragtime, Seven Guitars, Much Ado About Nothing, and more.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater has announced its 2022-2023 season of 13 productions across its four venues. The season will feature three world premieres, including two from the John (Jack) D. Lewis New Play Development Program.

Eleanor BurgessWife of a Salesman will make its world premiere September 27-November 6 in association with Writers Theatre. The new play from Burgess (The Niceties) tells the story of the 1950s housewife from Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman and her journey to meet the woman with whom her husband is having an affair.

Making its world premiere February 7-March 19, 2023, The Heart Sellers by Lloyd Suh (The Chinese Lady) explores the experiences of Asian immigrants in the 1970s who had a new path to American citizenship due to the Hart-Cellar Act of 1965, which was aimed at professional workers.

The Nativity Variations by Catherine Trieschmann (The Bridegroom of Blowing Rock), a comedy about an experimental community theatre troupe trying to stage a Christmas pageant, will make its world premiere during the holidays, running November 15-December 11.

The season will also include the hit musical Ragtime (September 20-October 30), which features music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Terence McNally; William Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing (January 10-February 12, 2023), directed by Laura Braza; August Wilson's Seven Guitars (March 7-April 2), and Tony-winning Best Play God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza (April 18-May 14).

Rounding out the season are several cabaret performances: Unforgettable: John-Mark McGaha Sings Nat King Cole (September 9-November 6); Beehive: The 60s Musical (November 11-January 15, 2023) featuring the songs of Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, and more women of the 1960s; Dino! An Evening with Dean Martin (January 20-March 19); and The Greatest Love for Whitney (March 24-May 28) in honor of the late Whitney Houston.

A Christmas Carol will also celebrate its 47th anniversary in the Pabst Theater, running November 29-December 24.
