The St. Ann’s Warehouse production of Almeida Theatre's thriller The Hunt begins performances February 16.
The production, which extended before previews had even begun, will run through March 24, with opening night set for February 25.
Starring Tobias Menzies, the US premiere questions the fine line between mob justice and truth when a kindergarten teacher is falsely accused of sexually abusing a student in his class.
Originally an Academy Award nominated film by Thomas Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm, the stage production is adapted by David Farr, and directed by Rupert Goold.
The production is the second adaptation of a Vinterberg work to be presented by St. Ann’s Warehouse, following its 2012 U.S. premiere of Grzegorz Jarzyna’s Festen, which was based on Vinterberg’s final Dogme 95 film.
In addition to Farr and Goold, the production features set design by Es Devlin. The play runs for 100 minutes with no intermission, and is underwritten by the Roy Cockrum Foundation.
