Great Comet Tony nominee Dave Malloy and Sloppy Bonnie playwright Krista Knight's Don't Stop Me will receive a public workshop presentation via Manhattan School of Music February 17-20. The new musical, which will be performed by MSM students, centers on an other worldly dance-a-thon at Plain Springs High, complete with a demonic DJ and deadly consequences for the losers.

The presentation will be directed by Chloe Treat (Der Freischütz at Heartbeat Opera), with choreography by Treat and Mayte Natalio, music direction by Dan Garmon, lighting design by Bailey Costa, scenic design by Meredith Ries, sound design by Scott Stauffer, and costume design by Fan Zhang. Olivia Mancini will serve as stage manager, with Tyler Danhaus as assistant stage manager and Mary Grace as props coordinator.

Don't Stop Me was commissioned and performed by Oakland, California's Youth Youth Musical Theater Company in 2015, in a production directed by Jennifer Boesing.

Best known for writing and performing in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, Malloy's musicals include Moby-Dick, Octet, Ghost Quartet, Preludes, Little Bunny Foo Foo, Three Pianos, Black Wizard/Blue Wizard, Beowulf—A Thousand Years of Baggage, Beardo, Sandwich, and Clown Bible. He is a three-time Obie Award winner, and has a Lucille Lortell Award, an ASCAP New Horizons Award, and a Jonathan Larson Grant.

Knight's plays include Sloppy Bonnie, Crush, Lipstick Lobotomy, Kirk at the SF Airport Hyatt, Primal Play, and Selkie, along with 17 plays and musicals for young audiences.
