Carol Hall's The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, starring Carlin Glynn, opened on Broadway at the 46th Street Theatre June 19, 1978. The musical directed by Peter Masterson and Tommy Tune received seven Tony nominations and won two, for Glynn and co-star Henderson Forsythe. It was later adapted into the hit movie musical starring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds.
