Playbill Celebrates Broadway's December Birthdays!

'Tis the season for mirth, merriment, and all things "Sparklejollytwinklejingley!" As the snow starts to fall and we begin to build snowmen, we'll be saving plenty of cheer for all the Sagittarius and Capricorn stars of Broadway whose birthdays fall throughout the month of December.

Hello, Bette Midler (Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof)! The Divine Miss M is where she belongs, first of the December birthdays, celebrating on December 1.

The "Real Big News" on December 3 is Alfred Uhry's (Parade, Driving Miss Daisy, Prince of Broadway) birthday.

On December 6, two spirits of Christmas come calling for Jack Thorne (A Christmas Carol, King Kong) and Nathaniel Hackmann (Back to the Future: The Musical).

"Everything Changes" December 7 when we celebrate Sara Bareilles (Waitress, Into the Woods) as the Waitress stage film hits movie theatres.

We're going to "Dance While We Can" December 8 for Graciela Daniele (Once on This Island, A Most Happy Fella), whose direction and choreography can currently be seen in Lincoln Center's The Garden of Anuncia. Also on December 8, we find out "If This is Love" we feel for the composer of the upcoming Broadway musical The Notebook, Ingrid Michaelson (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812).

There's "No One" other than Camille A. Brown (Hell's Kitchen, for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf) on our mind December 11.

Soon to be seen in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway is Eric Anderson (Waitress, Pretty Woman: The Musical), our December 14 birthday.

December 15's "Morning Report" will be all about Julie Taymor (The Lion King, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark).

The joy we feel on December 16 is all about Adam Guettel (Broadway's upcoming Days of Wine and Roses, The Light in the Piazza) and LaChanze (Jaja's African Hair Braiding, Here Lies Love, Trouble in Mind).

It's Appropriate to celebrate Sarah Paulson (The Glass Menagerie), currently performing on Broadway, on December 17.

We got love for The Shark Is Broken's Ian Shaw and the late, great Ossie Davis (Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch, A Raisin in the Sun) on December 18.

There's "Magic in the Man," Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Addams Family), who celebrates his birthday on December 22.

There's a "Good Thing Going" for Merrily We Roll Along's Reg Rogers (Tootsie, The Iceman Cometh), on December 23.

All we care about on December 25 are Jeremy Strong (coming soon to Broadway in An Enemy of the People) and James T. Lane (currently on Broadway in Chicago).

December 27 is a "Wonderful" day to celebrate director Joe Mantello (Wicked, Grey House, The Boys in the Band).

We'll provide more than "A Little Joy" for Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Appropriate, The Skin of Our Teeth) and Amanda Green (Mr. Saturday Night, Kiss Me, Kate) on December 29.

You don't have to wonder "If You Could See Her," as December 31 birthday Bebe Neuwirth (A Chorus Line, Chicago) will be Dancin' on Broadway this spring in Cabaret.
