The movie marks the return of Branagh's Detective Poirot and Tom Bateman's Bouc from the 2017 box office success Murder on the Orient Express.

The Kenneth Branagh-led murder mystery Death on the Nile announced its March 19 release on Hulu, following its theatrical premiere February 11. The movie is directed by Branagh, and stars him in a leading role, opposite Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, and Annette Bening. 

Based on a 1937 Agatha Christie novel with the same name, Death on the Nile follows detective Hercule Poirot (Branagh) and his vacation-turned-murder-pursuit after a couple’s honeymoon bears a shocking tragedy. The movie is a sequel to the 2017 box office success Murder on the Orient Express and marks the return of Branagh's Detective Poirot and his protege, Bouc, played by Tom Bateman.

Branagh is mainstay of the theatre community as a performer and a director. The Olivier winner starred in the revival of Look Back in Anger, alongside Emma Thompson, The Crucible Theatre's Richard III, and the West End revival of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov. He served as the director for the 2016 West End production of Romeo and Juliet and Broadway's The Play What I Wrote in 2003 as well as co-directed and starred in an Off-Broadway production of Macbeth in 2014. The actor also manages the London-based Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company.

Death on the Nilebecomes available for streaming on HBO Max and Hulu March 29 in the U.S. and on Star+ and Disney+ starting March 30 for Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Portugal, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, Luxembourg, Austria; April 6 for Spain, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand; and April 20 for Latin America and Brazil.

The mystery flick is produced by Ridley Scott, Branagh, Judy Hofflund, and Kevin J. Walsh. Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard and Mathew Prichard serve as executive producers.
