The Manhattan Theatre Club production of Richard Bean's The Nap opened at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre September 27. The new comedy from the One Man, Two Guvnors playwright invites audiences into the world of snooker—a British version of pool.
Tony winner Daniel Sullivan directs a cast made up of Alexandra Billings (Transparent, Goliath), Tony Award nominee John Ellison Conlee (Murder Ballad, The Full Monty), two-time Tony Award nominee Johanna Day (Proof, Sweat), four-time and 2018 United States National Snooker Champion Ahmed Aly Elsayed, Ethan Hova (Metrocards, The Blacklist), Heather Lind (Incognito, Othello), Max Gordon Moore (Saint Joan, Indecent), Bhavesh Patel (Present Laughter, War Horse), Thomas Jay Ryan (The Crucible, In The Next Room (or The Vibrator Play)), and Ben Schnetzer (Sticks and Bones, Pride).
The creative team for the production also includes David Rockwell (scenic design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Justin Townsend (lighting design), Lindsay Jones (original music and sound design), Anne Ford-Coates (hair and make-up design), Ben Furey (dialect coach), and Thomas Schall (fight director).
