Tony Award-winning designer David Rockwell has received two top honors for his prolific career, joining Architectural Digest's AD100 Hall of Fame, and also receiving Interior Design's inaugural Icon Award. The prolific theatre designer most recently set the scene for A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, and will design the upcoming production of Doubt, opening in February 2024.
The AD100 Hall of Fame serves as Architectural Digest's annual list of top talents in interior decoration, architecture, and landscape design, honoring "icons who have left an indelible imprint on the fields of architecture."
Interior Design's Icon Award—belonging to the publication's annual Hall of Fame Awards—will be presented for the first time to Rockwell in honor of the publication's 40th anniversary year. Rockwell received the award during a December 6 ceremony at The Glasshouse.
Across his career, Rockwell has created the landscape of over thirty notorious theatre productions, including Kiss Me Kate (2019), Falsettos, She Loves Me (2016), Catch Me If You Can, Legally Blonde, and Hairspray.
