National Theatre Live will broadcast the ongoing West End revival of Good, filmed live at the Harold Pinter Theatre, in 2023. Starring David Tenant, Elliot Levey, and Sharon Small, the C. P. Taylor play will arrive in cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland April 20, with an international release following June 15.
As society faces a World War, music-loving German professor John Halder finds himself swept along in a movement that crescendos towards an unthinkable finale. The revival opened October 12, having begun previews October 6, for a run through December 24. Olivier winner Dominic Cooke directs the show from Fictionhouse and Playful Productions.
Rounding out the cast is Jim Creighton, Rebecca Bainbridge, Izaak Cainer, Jamie Cameron, Edie Newman, Lizzie Schenk, and George Todică.
The revival features designs by Vicki Mortimer, lighting design by Zoe Spurr, sound design by Tom Gibbons, hair, wigs, and make-up by Campbell young, musical arrangements and composition by Will Stuart, movement direction by Imogen Knight, and casting by Amy Ball.
Good was first produced by the RSC in 1981, playing the Donmar Warehouse, Aldwych Theatre, and subsequently Broadway. A film, featuring Viggo Mortensen, Jodie Whittaker, and Jason Isaacs, was released in 2008.
