Tony-nominated Waitress composer and recent Into the Woods star Sara Bareilles will ring in the New Year on a PBS holiday special premiering December 31 at 8 PM ET.
Part of the Next at the Kennedy Center series, Sara Bareilles: New Year's Eve with the National Symphony Orchestra & Friends will also be available on the PBS app. The singer-songwriter will be joined by Rufus Wainwright, Emily King, and David Ryan Harris for this career-spanning musical evening filmed at the D.C. venue.
Michael Maliakel, who made his Broadway debut in the title role of the long-running Disney hit Aladdin, will be part of Joy—Christmas With the Tabernacle Choir, which premieres December 17 at 8 PM ET and on the PBS app.
Filmed before a live audience at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, viewers can expect classic and popular Christmas music and a true story about French novelist, poet, and dramatist Victor Hugo at Christmastime. Downton Abbey's Lesley Nicol also guest stars.
