Charlotte d'Amboise, Mark Evans, and Alex Newell star in South Orange Performing Arts Center's The Last Supper, a new musical with a book, music, and lyrics by Jeremy Desmon and Jeff Thomson. The production begins in New Jersey July 27, running through August 7.
Based on the film of the same name written by Dan Rosen, the work centers on a contentious dinner party hosted by a group of five liberal grad students for their conservative neighbors. Get a sneak peek at the musical's opening number, "Tonight, We Save the World," above.
d'Amboise stars as Naomi Day, Evans as Dinner Guests, and Newell as Jude, leading a cast also including Pomme Koch as Mark, Megan Kane as Paulie, Allan K. Washington as Luke, and Wes Zurick as Pete. Josh Canfield, Jennifer Frankel, Cayla Christine Primous, and Alan Wiggins round out the company as understudies.
The production is directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller (Next Fall, Mothers and Sons) and choreographed by Lorin Latarro (Waitress, Into the Woods), with a creative team also including scenic designer Lawrence E. Motten III, lighting designer Abigail Hoke-Brady, costume designer Haydee Zelideth Antuñano, sound designer Jessica Paz, and production manager Duncan Northern of TINC.
