The original cast members of the National Theatre production of Hadestown, who subsequently reprised their work in the musical's Tony-winning Broadway production, are set to return to London for a limited engagement in the musical's current West End bow.
The production at the Lyric Theatre will welcome Reeve Carney as Orpheus, Tony winner André De Shields as Hermes, Amber Gray as Persephone, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice, and Patrick Page as Hades beginning February 11, 2025, and continuing through March 9.
Producer Mara Issacs said in a statement, “It is nothing short of divine magic to be able to welcome Reeve, Andre, Amber, Eva, and Patrick back to London. This transatlantic collaboration, which began with the National Theatre production in 2018, is baked into Hadestown's DNA. We couldn't be more thrilled to bring them 'home' as Hadestown continues its love affair with the West End.”
Anaïs Mitchell's underworld-set folk opera, which premiered Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop in 2016, made its London premiere at the National Theatre in November 2018. The production subsequently opened on Broadway, where it continues at the Walter Kerr, in April 2019. Read reviews of the current London production by clicking here.
