& Juliet is celebrating one year on the Broadway boards with a special pop star sensation.

The musical, which features songs from the catalogue of pop music master Max Martin, will display Britney Spears' original 1999 "Baby, One More Time" tour costume within the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, with information on the costume's history and a (literal) sign off from Spears.

The display also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the song's original release, which catapulted Spears into pop superstardom as her first solo single. The pink and white costume was worn by Spears to perform the song on her first tour, which was also named after the single. A large signature from Spears, including a hand drawn smiley face, now adorns the right side of the jacket.

Directed by Luke Sheppard, & Juliet features songs by Max Martin and a book by David West Read. An international hit, the show reimagines the William Shakespeare classic Romeo and Juliet, exploring what would have happened if Juliet didn't die.

With music from Grammy winner Martin, the score is filled with familiar pop songs from the last three decades, such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “Larger Than Life,” “That’s The Way It Is,” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling." In addition to "Baby One More Time,” the musical features several other Spears songs, including "I'm Not a Girl," "Overprotected," "Oops!…I Did it Again," and "Stronger.”

The musical also has choreography by Jennifer Weber, set design by Soutra Gilmour, costume design by Paloma Young, musical supervision, orchestration, and arrangements by Bill Sherman, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Gareth Owen, video and projection design by Andrzej Goulding, hair, wig, and makeup design by Suzy Barrett, musical direction, additional arrangements, and orchestrations by Dominic Fallacaro, and casting direction by Stuart Burt.

The Broadway production earned nine 2023 Tony nominations, including one for Best Musical.

& Juliet is presented by Max Martin and Tim Headington and is produced by Max Martin, Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page, Jenny Petersson, Martin Dodd, and Rebecca Quigley.
