Charity Hope Valentine - Down-on-her-luck, but always hopeful. A dancehall hostess who dreams of finding true love. Determined, fun, quirky, funny, despairing, optimistic. Age 20-35, Alto

Helene - Dancer at the Fandango Ballroom; one of Charity’s best friends. Straight talking and streetwise. Age 20-35, Alto

Nickie - Dancer at the Fandango Ballroom. One of Charity’s close friends. Age 30-45, Alto

Vittorio Vidal - Very handsome, international film star. Italian. Knows his place in the world. Charismatic and authoritative. Has a way with the ladies and hot headed wife named Ursula. Age 30- 45, Baritone

Oscar Lindquist - A square, claustrophobic, educated, well spoken, shy, repressed and gawky man. Works as an actuary. Age 25-40, Baritone

Herman - Owner of Fandango Ballroom. A tough taskmaster. Grizzled and annoyed at everything but with a heart of gold. Age 35-55, Tenor

Daddy Burbeck - A true hippie, founder and leader of the Rhythm of Life Church. A spiritual, enigmatic, but laid back kind of guy. Age 24-40, Baritone

Ursula March - Jealous wife of Italian movie star, Vittorio Vidal. A flair for the dramatic. Age 25-35

SEEKING:

Jenna - A woman stuck in her life as an unhappily married waitress in a small town. Lives her live paycheck-to-paycheck and wants nothing more than to get away and start fresh. Age: 20-30, Mezzo- Soprano

Becky - The oldest of the three waitresses. Irreverent, irascible, been there, made it back, and somehow kept her forward and sometimes wicked sense of humor with excellent comedic timing. Age: 40-50, Mezzo-Soprano, Alto

Dawn - She is the youngest of the waitresses. She sets the tables, painstakingly insuring each salt and pepper-shaker is equidistant from the napkin holder. Age 20-30, Mezzo-Soprano

Dr. Pomatter - Handsome, endearing, and neurotic gynecologist with whom an unexpected extramarital affair is born. Has impeccable comedic timing and moves well. Age: 30-40, Tenor

Earl - Jenna’s husband. Peaked in high school, handsome in a gruff way, but that face is clouded with broken dreams. Age 20-30, Tenor, Baritone

Cal - A chef at the diner. A “Salt of the Earth” guy’s guy surrounded by gals. Brash, impatient, unsentimental, but somehow charming. Should have a strong pop/rock voice with great comedic chops. Baritone

Ogie - Strange, yet oddly lovable. Becomes slightly obsessed with Dawn (in a hilarious yet endearing way). Quirky, incredibly persistent, and odd, yet kind. Age 25-35, Tenor

Joe - The owner of the diner where Jenna, Dawn, Becky, and Cal work. A seemingly old, curmudgeonly man who has a soft spot for Jenna (and her pie), warm at heart. A sarcastically funny and no-nonsense guy with a keen ability to read people. Age 60-70, Tenor, Baritone

Lulu - Daughter of Jenna and Earl. A sweet, carefree child who appears in the last scene of the show. Age 4-5
