DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic scare actors to bring our haunted house experience to life during our "Asphalt Screams" Halloween event. As a scare actor, you will help create a terrifying and unforgettable atmosphere for our guests by embodying a variety of spooky characters. Actors should be able to fully commit to their role, interacting with guests in a safe yet thrilling manner.

Responsibilities:
• Perform as a scare actor in assigned haunted house scenes, delivering high-quality scares to event attendees.
• Wear provided costumes, prosthetic makeup, and/or masks to portray your character effectively.
• Engage with visitors using physical movement, vocalizations, and non-verbal cues while maintaining safety for both staff and guests.
• Attend the dress rehearsal/staff walkthrough on Thursday, October 24 to rehearse scenes, familiarize yourself with the layout, and ensure seamless coordination with other actors and crew.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in acting, performing, or scare acting is a plus but not required—enthusiasm and creativity are key!
• Ability to stay in character for extended periods of time while interacting with guests.
• Comfortable working in low-light environments and confined spaces.
• Ability to handle high-energy situations, including loud noises, sudden movements, fog and strobe effects.
• Must be available for both the dress rehearsal on October 24 and the event on October 25.
• A positive attitude, punctuality, and willingness to work as part of a team.

Schedule:
• Thursday, October 24:
◦ 1:00pm: Actor Training and Dressed rehearsal in full costume
◦ 4:00pm to 6:30pm: Staff Walkthrough

• Friday, October 25:
◦ 12:00pm: Actors Called for Makeup/Costume
◦ 2:00pm to 3pm: Staff Walkthrough
◦ 3:30pm-6:30pm: Asphalt Screams Event

**All actors must be available for both days

Compensation: $20/hour
