Jeremy Woodard will join the national tour of Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman's Wicked in the role of Fiyero beginning August 2 at the Hobby Center in Houston.

Woodard, who is new to the Wicked family, has been seen onstage in School of Rock, The Last Ship, Rock of Ages, Glory Days, Hairspray and Miss Saigon.

He will join a cast that features Emily Koch (Elphaba), Amanda Jane Cooper (Glinda), Wendy Worthington (Madame Morrible), Stuart Zagnit (The Wizard), Megan Masako Haley (Nessarose), Sam Seferian (Boq), Chad Jennings (Doctor Dillamond) and Emily Schultheis (Standby for Elphaba) with Allison Bailey, Kerry Blanchard, Jillian Butler, Jordan Casanova, Michael Di Liberto, Michael Drolet, Ryan Patrick Farrell, Anthony Festa, Dominic Giudici, Kali Grinder, Lauren Haughton, Garett Hawe, Ryan Jackson, Kelly Lafarga, Melissa Legaspi, Olivia Polci, Wayne Schroder, Tregoney Shepherd, Ben Susak, Travis Taber, Jeremy Thompson, Nyla Watson and Justin Wirick.

“The surprising tale of an unlikely friendship between two women in the Land of Oz,” Wicked, according to press notes, “tells the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, long before Dorothy drops in. Elphaba, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. Glinda is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. The remarkable odyssey of how these unexpected friends changed each other’s lives for good has made Wicked one of the world’s most popular musicals.”

Wicked is playing at the Hobby Center through August 14. Tickets are available by calling (800) 982-2787 or online at TheHobbyCenter.org.

The international hit musical continues on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre.
