Video Video: Lin-Manuel Miranda Returns as Alexander Hamilton in Saturday Night Live Cold Open

Miranda made a cameo on the sketch comedy show's January 25 airing.

Lin-Manuel Miranda donned his Alexander Hamilton costume once again to rap in the cold open for Saturday Night Live's January 25 airing. Watch the full sketch in the video above.

And yes, that is Miranda's original Hamilton costume, as he wrote on Instagram, thanking costume designer Paul Tazewell "for getting my old threads out of storage."

Timothée Chalamet hosted the comedy show's latest episode, while doing double duty as musical guest. The lineup of founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence sketch also included Chloe Fineman, who made her Broadway debut earlier this month in Simon Rich's All In: Comedy About Love

SNL has catered to theatre fans in several recent episodes, with sketches like a Gladiator II musical parody (starring Paul Mescal), the aftermath of a performance of Shrek the Musical, and a series of Broadway parody numbers set in a Port Authority Bus Terminal Duane Reade.
