Following sold-out runs at the West End’s Arts Theatre and the Charing Cross Theatre, the 10th anniversary production of Ushers: The Front of House Musical officially opens at London's The Other Palace April 17 following previews that began April 10.
Directed by Max Reynolds with choreography by Adam Haigh, performances will continue through May 19.
The cast includes Bethany Amber-Perrins as Rosie, Luke Bayer as Ben, Christopher Foley as Stephen, Daniel Page as Robin, Danielle Rose as Lucy, and Cleve September as Gary.
Ushers—featuring music by Yiannis Koutsakos, lyrics by James Oban and Koutsakos, and a book and additional lyrics by James Rottger—follows a working shift in the lives of the front-of-house staff of a theatre. A preview performance of a new jukebox musical is due to take place, a workplace romance is on the rocks, an untrained newbie is working her first shift, and the amorous manager is under pressure to cut costs.
The show opened at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015 after a 2014 run at the Charing Cross Theatre and transferred to the Arts Theatre in the West End in October 2015.
The creative team also includes musical director Dean Austin, sound designer Christopher Reid, lighting designer Jack Weir, and set and costume designer Reuben Speed.
Producer James Steel said in an earlier statement, “A decade has passed since our opening of our original cult British musical, and we're excited to reintroduce the vibrant energy of our industry to a brand-new audience. Working on this show brings immense joy, and we're proud to maintain our commitment to Equity's 'Professionally Made, Professionally Paid' campaign, upholding the standards set at the inception of the show at the Hope Theatre over a decade ago."
