As Lisa Lampanelli’s comedy Stuffed begins performances Off-Broadway October 5, understudy Lauren Ann Brickman will assume the role of Marty, filling in last-minute for Nikki Blonsky.
The Hairspray Golden Globe nominee has been sick for the final week of rehearsals, and will not perform either the first night or October 6. “We look forward to having Nikki back in the show as soon as she’s feeling better,” said a representative for the production.
The play is set to open officially at the Westside Theatre’s downstairs space October 19. The comedy, which explores perceptions of body image from four women, received its New York premiere last year at the WP Theater. Jackson Gay directs.
