Ten years after Mamma Mia! The Movie grossed over $600 million worldwide, principal photography for the Universal Pictures sequel has begun. Entitled Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the movie musical is set to be released July 20, 2018.

Look Back at the 2008 Mamma Mia! Film Premiere

Reprising their roles from the 2008 film are Academy Award winner Meryl Streep as Donna, Julie Walters as Rosie, and Christine Baranski as Tanya, with Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård, and Oscar winner Colin Firth returning as well.

The film will travel back and forth in time in order to show how various relationships grew and how the past can resonate in the present. Lily James will play the Young Donna; filling the roles of Young Rosie and Young Tanya are Alexa Davies and Jessica Keenan Wynn. Young Sam will be played by Jeremy Irvine with Josh Dylan as Young Bill and Hugh Skinner as Young Harry.
