Suzan-Lori Parks has curated a series of performances and conversations for outdoor NYC venue Little Island, with nightly events through July 14.
July 12 will host a post-sundown conversation with Columbia astronomy professor Jane Huang and will also include a performance from jazz collective The Psychedelic Soap Box.
On July 13, theatre fans can watch Parks work alongside Hansol Jung with Watch Me Work, a communal work session. This event will feature a performance from Parks and her band, Sula & the Joyful Noise.
The series closes July 14 with a conversation with Parks and historian Eric Foner, accompanied by a performance from Grammy nominee Brandee Younger.
