Playbill Travel is now booking Seth's Big Fat Broadway Cruise: Alaska Dawes Glacier, created by SiriusXM Broadway host/Playbill columnist/actor/musician Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley Jackson,
Described by Rudetsky as "theatre camp at sea," the next voyage is scheduled for August 1–8, 2025, departing from Seattle, Washington, before visiting Alaska’s Ketchikan, Endicott Arm, Juneau, Skagway, and Inside Passage, and wrapping in Victoria, BC.
Performers aboard the Celebrity Edge will include three Tony-nominated Broadway celebrities: Tony Award-winner Stephanie J. Block (The Cher Show), Tony nominee Lilli Cooper (Tootsie), and Broadway/TV favorite Sebastian Arcelus (Into the Woods).
While onboard, guests will participate in a myriad of exciting theatre-themed events and concerts. Stay in world-class accommodations including staterooms, villas and suites. With 29 distinct restaurants, bars, and lounges within the ship and on-board amenities including a state-of-the-art spa, casino, and a shopping district curated with upscale brands and products, Celebrity Edge has it all. The Resort Deck also invites guests to have sweeping views, and enjoyment from the on-board Solarium, a rooftop garden, swimming pools, and more. All from the comfort of staying right on the ship.
“Attendees love the interactive nature of the cruises,” shares Rudetsky. In addition to his signature concerts with the various Broadway stars—where the actors answer Rudetsky's detailed and often-humorous questions and also perform numerous signature tunes—passengers have the rare opportunity to perform with the Broadway artists.
Passengers will also have the chance to be part of a broadcast of Rudetsky's SiriusXM radio program, Seth's Big Fat Radio, and take a performance master class with Broadway's greatest fan.
"At the end of the week, we do a variety show," said Rudetsky in a statement. "So all the stars perform together, but also the passengers can if they want to. They work all week preparing, and then they join the stars on their signature songs. When the late, great Chita Rivera was on board, we did 'All That Jazz' with the passengers doing the backup… And when Judy Kuhn did the cruise, we did 'One Day More'; she was Cosette, Adam Pascal was Jean Valjean, and the passengers were everyone else. The passengers get to join the stars as they literally recreate their big numbers while performing with them!”
Included in the cruise price are accommodations, all meals including group dinner, Broadway star concerts, performing with the stars, autograph sessions, specialty events, daily activities, a beverage package, Wi-Fi, and gratuities.
Playbill Travel can also assist passengers with their flights between their gateway city and the final destination. For those who purchase Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance, Playbill Travel can help protect a passenger's vacation investment against any medical emergencies before or during the vacation. Pre- and post-cruise plans are also available for those who would like to extend their vacation.
From icebergs and whale watching to exclusive performances starring Broadway’s best, this is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Welcome to Alaska! Visit PlaybillTravel.com to learn more.
