News Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, Jeremy Irvine Perform The Odyssey in London Today; Free Streaming Available Online A live reading of Homer's The Odyssey, being held Nov. 12 and live-streamed free from unusual and iconic locations across London, marks the culmination of the Almeida Greeks season. The public is able to experience the readings live at four locations on the route, but capacity is limited, and tickets will be issued at each venue on a first-come, first-served basis.

The public events are at 8:30 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM and 5 PM. Presented in a translation by Robert Fagles, it is directed by Rupert Goold and Robert Icke.

Among the actors participating are Ian McKellen, Stanley Tucci, Jeremy Irvine, Andrew Scott, Juliet Stevenson and Simon Russell Beale. The Odyssey follows the huge success of The Iliad, which involved more than 60 readers and reached an audience of over 50,000 people across the world, watching online or in person at the British Museum and the Almeida Theatre. It provided an opportunity for a groundbreaking level of online engagement, partly due to the 16-hour live stream of the event; video footage is available on the Almeida website.
