Michael Wartella, who currently appears in Broadway's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and has been seen in youthful roles in Tuck Everlasting and Wicked, will come of age as a solo cabaret singer August 25 at Feinstein’s/54 Below cabaret in New York.

For the 11:30 PM concert, the actor, who created the role of the technology-addicted Mike Teavee in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, promises a night of rock ’n’ roll, reimagined Broadway favorites, and his own original songs.

There will be special guest appearances from Broadway actor Tessa Grady, plus Aaron Lavigne and Andrea Laxton. Wartella’s backing band will consist of his childhood friends Alex Hayes (bass) and Jake Robinson (drums).

In addition to his Broadway credits, Wartella has appeared Off-Broadway in Rent, The Kid (The New Group), Seussical (Theaterworks/USA), and Oliver Twist (TFANA). Regionally, he appeared in Chasing Rainbows (Flat Rock Playhouse and Goodspeed Opera House). He was also featured in the November 2016 Broadway Sings Beyoncé concert at the Highline Ballroom.

Tickets cost $20, plus a $20 food/beverage minimum. They can be ordered at 54Below.com. The club is located at 254 West 54th Street, in the basement beneath Studio 54.
