News See Asian-American Actors Including Jose Llana, Ann Harada and Ali Ewoldt Take on the Great Roles in Musical Theatre A host of top talent took part in Changing the Stats: Asian Americans on Broadway Nov. 2 at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space. The evening offered excerpts from dream roles not traditionally cast with Asian-American actors. We offer a selection of onstage, rehearsal and backstage shots!

The 7 PM concert featured tunes from The Producers (featuring Raymond J. Lee, Herman Sebek, Devin Ilaw and Emily Hsu); The Light in the Piazza (featuring Ali Ewoldt, Josh Dela Cruz and Christine Toy Johnson); Company (featuring Jose Llana, Pearl Sun, EJ Zimmerman, Joanna Carpenter, Ewoldt and Ilaw) and Gypsy (featuring Ann Harada, Alan Ariano, Albert Guerzon, Zimmerman and Carpenter).

The concert was directed and staged by Rommy Sandhu, Marc Oka and Christine Toy Johnson. Music direction was by Ming Aldrich-Gan.

The evening was sponsored by the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors’ Equity Association and ReImagined World Entertainment, via Theatre Authority.
