Wendy C. Goldberg, the artistic director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference, is co-creating a new musical about the grunge scene in Seattle in the 1990s, according to Variety.

Goldberg will also direct the show. She is collaborating with Matt Schatz, who will pen the libretto. Seattle Repertory Theatre commissioned the project.

The currently untitled musical will feature songs from the era. Former Nirvana manager Janet Billig Rich and BMG executive Elyse Cogan are attached to the developing musical. A workshop to develop the project will be held later in the year.
