On January 20, Theatre for a New Audience celebrated the official opening of Calvin Trillin’s play About Alice, now running through February 3 in Brooklyn's Polonsky Shakespeare Center. Inspired by the memoir of the same name, the play centers on Calvin Trillin’s late wife Alice Trillin—writer, educator, producer and activist—who died in 2001 from complications due to her lung cancer treatments.

Directed by Leonard Foglia (The Gin Game, The People in the Picture), the Off-Broadway production stars Jeffrey Bean (The Thanksgiving Play) and Carrie Paff (Ideation at 59E59) as Calvin and Alice Trillin, respectively.
