Rehearsals are underway for the National Theatre's world premiere of Tim Price's Nye, which is set to play the London company's Olivier Theatre beginning February 24 ahead of a March 6 opening night. A co-production with Wales Millenium Centre, the run will continue through May 11, with Rufus Norris (Small Island) at the helm.

As previously announced, Michael Sheen will star as Aneurin "Nye" Bevan in the work charting the creation of Britain's National Health Service. Described as an "epic Welsh fantasia," the work sees Nye on his deathbed revisiting the events of his life, from a childhood mining underground to fights with Winston Churchill.

Also appearing in the cast will be Remy Beasley, Matthew Bulgo, Dyfan Dwyfor, Roger Evans, Ross Foley, Jon Furlong, Daniel Hawksford, Bea Holland, Stephanie Jacob, Kezrena James, Tony Jayawardena, Michael Keane, Nicholas Khan, Rebecca Killic, Oliver Llewellyn-Jenkins, Mark Matthews, Rhodri Meilir, Ashley Mejri, Lee Mengo, David Monteith, Mali O’Donnell, Sara Otung, and Sharon Small.
