Soo was recognized for her principal performance as Eliza Hamilton in the Public Theater's production of Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The sold-out and extended show, which has now finished performances, is due to make its transfer to Broadway on July 13. A graduate of the Julliard, her Off-Broadway credits include the critically acclaimed Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 as well as NBC's popular musical TV series "Smash."
Grisetti has appeared Off-Broadway in Red Eye of Love, Peter and the Starcatcher, Rent, Candida and Enter Laughing, for which he received a Theatre World Award.
The actors will be presented with their award at Equity's regional board meeting on June 9.
The Clarence Derwent Award was established in 1945 and is the oldest on Broadway, named after distinguished actor and Equity president from 1946-1952. The Actors Equity Foundation is a nonprofit organization, separate from Actors' Equity Association.
