That's Norma Desmond! That's Norma Desmond! This Halloween, it seemed like the most popular costume was Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd—or rather, Nicole Scherzinger's blood-soaked version of the character. This year, we had not one but two musical theatre actors dressed up as the tragic silent screen star: Rachel Zegler and Larry Owens. Plus, the entire front of house team at the St. James Theatre also donned the (now iconic) slip dress.
See their costumes below and scroll through the gallery to see what other Broadway stars dressed up as—ranging from Suffs' Hannah Cruz as Deadpool to The Outsiders'Sky Lakota-Lynch with a riff on the Best Musical winner and André De Shields taking out his original costume from The Wiz so that he could ride on a float for the NYC Village Halloween Parade.
Set in a 1947 Provincetown beach house, the play unfolds over one sultry night as Tennessee Williams and a young Marlon Brando craft A Streetcar Named Desire together.
