The London production of Disney Theatrical Group's Frozen the Musical will offer a special performance June 28 at 8 PM at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane to help kick off Pride Weekend in the capital.
The hit production, which will play its final performance in September, is inviting audience members to wear their "best Elsa blues, and get ready to really Let It Go at a celebratory performance packed with surprises," according to press notes. Throughout that week, Frozen will also host a bucket collection for Diversity Role Models, whose mission is to end LGBTQ+ bullying by harnessing the power of storytelling to build empathy and celebrate difference.
The cast of Frozen the Musical features Samantha Barks as Elsa, Laura Dawkes as Anna, Jammy Kasongo as Kristoff, Craig Gallivan as Olaf, Oliver Ormson as Hans, Richard Frame as Duke of Weselton, and Mikayla Jade and Ashley Birchall alternating as Sven, with Rhianne Alleyne, Marianne Bardgett, Rebecca Botterill, Oliver Brenin, Gabrielle Cocca, Ashley J Daniels as King Agnarr, Laura Emmitt, Lizzy-Rose Esin-Kelly as Bulda, Jemal Felix, Jordan Fox, Molly Francis, Matt Gillett, Isabella Glanznig Santos, Dominic Adam Griffin, George Hinson, Ben Irish as Pabbie, Aoife Kenny, Justin-Lee Jones, Jordan Livesey, Jonathan Milton, Jemma Revell, Harriet Samuels, Jacqui Sanchez as Queen Iduna, Jak Skelly as Oaken/Bishop, Caitlin Tipping, Rodney Vubya, Ed Wade, and Anna Woodside.
Based on the 2013 animated Disney film, Frozen features music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and a book by Jennifer Lee. The musical opened on Broadway in March 2018, earning Tony Award nominations for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score. The Broadway production announced in May 2020 that it would not reopen post-pandemic.
Frozen is directed by Michael Grandage, with choreography by Rob Ashford, set and costume design by Christopher Oram, lighting design by Neil Austin, sound design by Peter Hylenski, video design by Finn Ross, puppet design by Michael Curry, and musical supervision and arrangements by Stephen Oremus.
