Lauren Ann Brickman is set to star as Marty in the return engagement of Lisa Lampanelli’s Stuffed Off-Broadway. Brickman, previously an understudy who stepped into the role two days prior to the first preview, has been performing nightly since performances began October 5.
Brickman was understudy to Hairspray’s Nikki Blonsky, who fell ill during rehearsals and missed the first week of performances. Following her first performance October 10, Blonsky and the creative team reached a mutual agreement to part ways.

Brickman is an improv comedian who has performed with Upright Citizens Brigade and Queens Secret Improv. Onstage, she has appeared in productions of Urinetown and 27 Wagons of Cotton.
Lampanelli’s comedy Stuffed is currently scheduled to play an open-ended engagement at the Westside Theatre’s downstairs space. The play looks at issues of body image and the different relationships we have with food.
Following the cast change, opening night was moved from October 19 to October 31.
Stuffed received its New York premiere last year at the WP Theater with direction by Gay. The encore run is produced by Rachel Karpf. For tickets and more information visit Stuffedplay.com.
