Cabaret & Concert News Karen Ziemba, Richard Kind, and Michael Riedel Added to January Curtains Concert Cast The score to Kander & Ebb’s 2007 murder mystery musical will get two concert performances on January 25 in NYC.

Tony Award nominees Karen Ziemba and Richard Kind have joined the cast of the forthcoming concert performance of the 2007 Kander & Ebb murder mystery musical Curtains, which is scheduled for two performances 7 and 9:30 PM January 25 at Feinstein’s/54 Below supper club in New York.

As special guests, two real-life theatre journalists will alternate in the role of drama critic Daryl Grady: New York Post columnist Michael Riedel at the 7 PM show and former New York Times critic Charles Isherwood at the 9:30 PM show.

Kind (Mad About You, Curb Your Enthusiasm) will assume the leading role of Detective Cioffi originated by David Hyde Pierce. Mary Callanan (Bandstand) will play producer Carmen Bernstein, a role originated by Debra Monk.

Ziemba was a member of the original cast, and will reprise her role as Georgia Hendricks, Also recreating their roles from the original production will be Edward Hibbert (It Shoulda Been You), Erin Davie (Side Show), Noah Racey (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Megan Sikora (Holiday Inn), Nili Basseman (Chicago), J. Austin Eyer (The Little Mermaid), Paula Leggett Chase (A Chorus Line), Brittany Marcin (Anything Goes), Christopher Spaulding (Rock of Ages), and Jerome Vivona (Seussical).

Rupert Holmes, co-lyricist and co-book writer, will host both concerts. Original lyricist Fred Ebb and original librettist Peter Stone both passed away during the years leading up to the show’s Broadway debut.

Producer-director Robert W. Schneider said, “I am over the moon that Curtains is making its way back to New York City, and with this dream cast. I am honored that Mr. Holmes and Mr. Kander trust our team enough to bring their score back to New York audiences at the fabulous Feinstein’s/54 Below.”

Feinstein’s/54 Below is located at 254 West 54th Street, beneath Studio 54, in Manhattan. Tickets, which cost $35 to $75 (plus a $25 food/drink minimum), can be ordered here. Tickets on the day of performance after 4 PM are available only by calling (646) 476-3551.
