Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced the live TV musical stagings of The Sound of Music and Peter Pan, again produce the awards ceremony. Two-time Tony winner Stephen Oremus (Kinky Boots, The Book of Mormon) is music director for the evening that promises musical performances by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson and Anna Kendrick, as well as Jack Black, Common, John Legend, Adam Levine with Maroon 5, Tim McGraw, Rita Ora and Tegan and Sara with The Lonely Island.

Academy Award-winning husband-and-wife songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who won the Oscar last year for the hit single "Let It Go" from "Frozen," have written a special number that host Harris (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will perform. It's titled "Moving Pictures."

"Into the Woods," the film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical, is nominated for Production Design, Costume Design (Colleen Atwood) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Meryl Streep as The Witch). "Birdman," the story of an actor struggling to make a comeback on stage, is nominated for Best Picture, Best Featured Actor, for Edward Norton, and Best Featured Actress, for Cabaret star Emma Stone. Michael Keaton is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role. "Birdman" is nominated for Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay and Directing.

Bradley Cooper, who just concluded his Broadway run in The Elephant Man on Broadway, is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in "American Sniper," along with Tony Award winner and "Les Miserables" star Eddie Redmayne (Red) for "The Theory of Everything," Steve Carell  for "Foxcatcher" and Benedict Cumberbatch (Frankenstein, "Sherlock") for "The Imitation Game."

Mark Ruffalo, who starred in the HBO film "The Normal Heart," is nominated for Actor in a Supporting role for "Foxcatcher," and Keira Knightley, who will make her Broadway debut in Thérèse Raquin, received a Supporting Actress nomination for "The Imitation Game."
