Brian d'Arcy James, who is set to take over the role of King George in Hamilton on Broadway on April 14, has added another credit to his rapidly growing film career. The three-time Tony nominee is set to star opposite fellow Broadway alum Molly Ringwald and Brendan Meyer in the independent drama All These Small Moments, according to Variety.
The film will also star Jemima Kirke (Girls), Harley Quinn Smith, and Sam McCarthy. The project marks writer and director Melissa B. Miller-Costanzo’s feature debut.
In the movie, d’Arcy James and Ringwald will play a couple in a troubled marriage and the parents of a teenage boy (played by Meyer), whose fascination with an older woman (Kirke) complicates his already difficult childhood.
D’Arcy James originated the role of King George in the Off-Broadway premiere of Hamilton at the Public Theater before going on to star on Broadway in Something Rotten!—a show that earned him his third Tony nomination. After appearing in a featured role in the Oscar-winning film Spotlight, d’Arcy James lined up a slew of screen projects, including Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why and the films Molly’s Game and Felt.
