Joel David Moore, who revised Andrew Eisen's screenplay, will direct the motion picture, which will likely begin shooting in June.
According to the online news source, Langella will play a "cantankerous old man being driven by his son-in-law cross-country to Oregon with the intention of being euthanized in the state where physician-assisted suicide is legal."
Producers are Joey Carey, Stefan Nowicki and Morgan White for Sundial Pictures.
Langella, a three-time Tony Award winner for his performances in Seascape, Fortune's Fool and Frost/Nixon, was most recently seen on Broadway in Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Terence Rattigan's drama Man and Boy, directed by Maria Aitken.
