Audible Theater has announced details for its first two live shows of 2023 at Minetta Lane Theatre: a solo show from two-time Tony nominee Eva Noblezada and a world premiere from playwright-director Erica Schmidt.
Nostalgia: A Love Letter to NYC, written and performed by Noblezada, is an evening of storytelling and song celebrating New York City. The solo show will run for three performances only January 12–14. Noblezada is currently appearing on Broadway in her Tony-nominated turn as Eurydice in Hadestown. She was also nominated for her Broadway debut in Miss Saigon.
Following Nostalgia will be the world premiere of the audio play Lucy, written and directed by Erica Schmidt (Cyrano). Brooke Bloom and Lynn Collins will star in the two-hander about a busy mother and the possibly unstable nanny she's just hired. Previews begin January 27 ahead of a February 6 opening. The limited engagement will run though February 25.
The creative team for Lucy features scenic design by Amy Rubin, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Cha See, and sound design by Justin Ellington. Gigi Buffington is the vocal and text coach, Lorenzo Pisoni is the physical movement coordinator, and casting is by The Telsey Office. David Lurie-Perret will serve as the production stage manager. Technical supervision is by Hudson Theatrical Associates with general management by Baseline Theatrical's Andy Jones and Jonathan Whitton.
Both Lucy and Nostalgia: A Love Letter to NYC will also be released as Audible Originals, available for digital streaming.
